Your creative path starts by paying attention. What catches your eye? Impacts your emotions? Is there a sound or music phrase you remember? What words come to you? What scenes, colors, shapes, and movement spark your imagination? For example, that fleeting moment you see a face and bent figure in a piece of driftwood. What is the wood saying? Why did it reveal itself to you? You might jot down something like the following:
"My life is pulled, spread, and frozen along this ghost of wood where water and green once celebrated sun, wind, rain, life."
Ok, ok, it’s a quick draft. The point is to take that creative impression and make something of it (write, paint, sculpt, sing, rap, do it.) Pay attention then create something out of what you see. Try it, you can do it!
